Embroidery Hoop Craft Room Organizers

Did you find a bunch of embroidery hoops in a box that your grandma gave you? Don't throw them away, even if you don't do embroidery. The hoops are a wonderful choice when it comes to organizing your sewing room or craft area. Whether the hoops are large, small, all the same size, or all different sizes, you'll find them helpful in organizing your sewing or craft room. Hang some on a wall and you'll be able to store spools of thread, bobbins, ribbon, and much more.
An embroidery hoop is actually two hoops. It's one wooden hoop, that goes inside another one, and then the big one is tightened onto the smaller one. Even if Grandma didn't leave you any, you can still buy them at most any craft store.
For many craft room organization hoops, you won't even have to cover them with fabric. One such project is done by simply hanging a large hoop on the wall. Put a nail or hook in the center of it, and hang up hoops that aren't in use.
Make a hoop for organizing things from scissors, to a thread puller, to a tape measure. Just put the two embroidery hoop pieces together and tighten them. Then, screw small cup hooks through the inside of the inner hoop, just around one side. Use the hooks to hang things that are on cords, or things with holes, which can be hung on the hooks.
Craft a pincushion by using a piece of thick fabric. Lay the fabric over the small hoop, put the large hoop over it, and tighten it. Hang the fabric-covered hoop on the wall and use it to organize pins and needles. Just stick them into the fabric and they're secure.
Take an embroidery hoop, wrap a wide rubber band around it, and use it to hold spools of thread or bobbins. Slide long nails between the hoop and the band, with the nail points sticking outward. Use the nails to hang thread spools and/or bobbins. Or, hang ribbon on the nails. A different ribbon organizer is made by simply hanging an embroidery hoop on a wall, and hanging ribbon over the bottom of the hoop.
Make a quick shelf by just hanging a hoop on the wall, and setting something inside it, as if it was a shelf. Make the shelf deeper by gluing two or more hoops together. Wow, your craft or sewing room is looking good, now that you've hung up all of those embroidery hoops!
