Oreo Cookie Halloween Costume: Easy, Creative and Eye-Catching
Some of the different clever costume ideas that my daughter and I have come up with are: a bag of dog food; a Christmas or birthday present; and an Oreo cookie. These costumes are easily made, with no need for a sewing machine even.

Here are the directions for making the Oreo Cookie costume:
Items needed:
1 large cardboard box
Brown acrylic paint
Black acrylic paint
1 yard Black or dark brown ribbon 1 inch wide, cut in half
White clothing
Oreo Cookies
Cut two sides of the card board box and lay them flat on the table or floor. Draw a large circle on both of them the same size, at least 2 or more feet across and cut them out. Paint both circles dark brown. Open the bag of cookies to snack on while having fun working on the project, using one as an example. Use the black paint to do the raised design on the cookie, making sure the word Oreo is large enough for people to see easily, so they know what you are!
When the paint is dry make two slices with a knife at the top of each cookie half and thread the ribbon through, tying a knot on the inside. Make sure to position these holes so that the ribbon will go over the shoulder and be used as straps.
The white clothing will serve as the Oreo stuffing. Depending on the weather in the area that you live in you would want to choose different types of clothing. Since we lived in a colder climate we opted for a white fluffy coat, but if you live in a warmer area you may want to get a set of cooler clothing such as a white blouse or t-shirt, white pants, shorts or skirt, or white leotards and tights. The Goodwill or nearby thrift store is a great place to get any of these articles of clothing at great prices, they usually have plenty of whites to choose from.
Being an Oreo cookie for Halloween was just one of the creative costume ideas we came up with, but it was for sure one of the favorites all around town as we made our rounds trick or treating!
