Halloween Costumes You Can Make Without Sewing
You don't have to call your mom or friend to help with your home made costumes. Use these simple no-sew ideas for a great Halloween Costumes.
No sew Halloween costume #1. The ghost costume made from a sheet. When you think of a quick no-sew costume, the first thing that come to mind is a ghost. It is true. A ghost costume is the simplest and easiest to make by just cutting eyeholes. For greater visibility, cut a larger section out for the entire face, and paint your face white instead.
No sew Halloween costume #2. The ghost costume made from Tulle Fabric: Take the ghost costume a step further by creating it from tulle fabric. You will need to purchase an entire bolt for under $20.00. Measure the length of twice your body. Cut several length of this fabric and layer it one on top of the other, opened to full length. Find the center and make a whole to put your head through. Take one final length of the fabric, but do not cut it. Place this top layer over your head. You should be able to see through it just fine without cutting eyeholes. You can add glow in the dark paint to your costume, (around all edges) if you wish.
No sew Halloween costume #3. A sarong or toga costume: A sarong is made by tying a piece of fabric at the waist, or crossing it over the front of the body and tying it behind the neck. A sarong is a great basis for costumes like an Egyptian Queen or King, a Hawaiian dancer, or a roman guard. It will also make a great toga costume.
No sew Halloween costume #4. A biblical costume: You can make a simple tunic or poncho without sewing. Take your fabric, measured to be either twice the length from shoulder to hip, or shoulder to foot. Fold it in half, and make slit large enough to fit your head. The slit should be front to back, not side to side. Secure your tunic with a robe, sash, or belt. This tunic can be used for any biblical costume. In white fabric, it would also be a great start for an angel's costume. In black, you could use it as a witch's costume.
No sew Halloween costume #5. A super hero: To make a cape or cloak, take a piece of fabric, drape it over your shoulders and secure it with a metal clasp or broach. You can even tie it if you wish. This can make a great superhero costume, a medieval costume, or anything mysterious.
No sew Halloween costume #6. A ladybug costume: pin black felt circles onto a red vest. To make antennae, attach pipe cleaner to a black hat or headband. Similarly, you can add black stripes to a yellow vest to a bumblebee.
No sew Halloween costume #7. A Clown Costume: Wear a bright colored pair of Pajamas to transform yourself into a clown. Wear and extra large pair of shoes, and make some hair out of clean rags. Add makeup, and get a horn or other prop, and you are an instant clown.
No sew Halloween costume #8. A ballerina costume: Wear a leotard, stockings, and flat shoes as the start of your ballerina costume. For your skirt, take crepe paper streamers and tape streamers to a sash belt so that they go all the way around the body forming a skirt. Tape several layers of streamers to the "skirt".
